I'm sure my house plants enjoyed the sun as much as the rest of us.
I'm still going through boxes and deciding what to get rid of. I got stalled when I took these old wooden puzzles out and began to put them together. I was having trouble with the blocks on the lower left of the picture. There was no picture to go by and I was about to give up when daughter Sheila came by after work. Her eyes lit up when she saw the puzzles and in no time she had them done. Needless to say not much clearing out got done today.
( Her copy was awarded to her mother as a Sunday school prize in 1940).
Thanks again, Margaret. I really enjoyed that book.
Thanks for stopping by, G.M.
Your plants look so happy and healthy! And, you have everything arranged so beautifully! I love the old wooden puzzles! I wish my daughter lived close enough to drop by after work. I used to stop by after work to see my mother. Those visits are some really happy memories.
ReplyDeleteYou have lots of house plants, and great sunny windows to nurture them by.
ReplyDeleteHow fun to have your daughter come by and work the puzzles. Were they hers when she was young?
I was not aware of the book "The Blue Castle" so i Googled it. It does sound like a great story.
Beautiful plants. You are blessed to have a daughter live close enough to come by and do a puzzle, (or two or three), with you. How fun!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
What a friendly and positive view into and from your room with plants and and style and sun coming in! This was the present from sky for some hard work in the rain before!
ReplyDeleteThese puzzles are very nice. Not easy to put them together! I know these lovely games from my childhood. A glimpse of nostalgia and good quiet pictures for children in those times.
Beautiful house plants. hat fun to have your daughter drop by and enjoy the puzzles with you.
ReplyDeleteMy children had old block puzzles like that and how fast they could put them together amazed me! Your plants look fabulous. Sunny with a bitter wind here today. Best, Jane x
ReplyDeleteYou had a simple joy day! Oh I do love your sunny plant room. We've not had any sunshine in 6 days...but....we've had no snow either. I'll take the good with the bad. Cleaning/de cluttering sometimes takes us off task doesn't it? It's ok, stop and smell them roses.
ReplyDeleteOh I am so glad you enjoyed the book :) It has been one of my favourites for a long time and I re-read it every year or so.
ReplyDeleteI love all your potplants - I am sure you must have a "green thumb" as they all look so healthy. I love plants but my potted ones always seemed to die on me, whatever I did to them.
How wonderful to have your daughter drop in like that. I so miss my daughter, living so far away as she does. But we cannot stop our children living their own lives and she loves Arizona. I would be lost without the internet to connect with her!
And I always love visiting your blog :)
Cheers, Mxx
Look at your wonderful house plants! I love them. Oh if my little granddaughter that loves puzzles lived near you she would be at your house. She loves her some puzzles and quite good with them too. I hope that you have a great day. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteAfter rain, we really appreciate the sun!I am sure the puzzles brought good memories!
ReplyDeleteI need to make a note to myself about that book...it intrigued me when I read about it on Margaret's blog, too.
ReplyDeleteI love all your flowers...
I love your house plants, they look so healthy. We haven't had much sun lately...rainy days and cool weather has set in. Hope to see sunshine by the weekend. Hope you're having a good day.
ReplyDeleteHi GM! The puzzles are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI'll look for that book!
Your houseplants look wonderful!
You sure have a lot of plants - they look so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThose block puzzles are really nice and look like fun.
I always get distracted when trying to clear out things too, but it is enjoyable looking at everything. :)
Those puzzles are delightful! I'd have a hard time giving them away too. I do love how big and bright your windows are, and how happy your plants are there, even in winter. Oh - I hope I'm not being a pest about the commenting issue, but two folks have mentioned that their commenting troubles were solved when they used a different browser from Chrome (or just switched browsers). Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip, MK, I'll see if someone here will be able to help me because I have no idea about Chrome.
DeleteThose wooden puzzles are so cute. I just love all your house plants. I used to have lots of house plants until we moved into the log cabin. It's dark inside a log home and with woods all around the house it seems like we don't need inside plants. I do want a hanging plant for my kitchen window. I don't know the name of it but Deb, who blogs at "Just Cats" has one. She posted a picture of it this week and it is beautiful. She has nice big windows too.
ReplyDeleteI'd pack those puzzles up again. Too hard to give them away. Enjoyed my visit to your blog. Love your beautiful header.
ReplyDeleteAll the plants look good. I see you have quite a nice amaryllis.
ReplyDeleteLove your plant room! I have Amaryllis and Orchids blooming now, too! Puzzles are always fun to me! I would definitely keep those!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Granny Marigold, you can weigh into this discussion or any other any time over at my place. I appreciate you taking the time to comment, even though you don't have a crockpot. Thank you...Have a beautiful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love your jungle! I must have houseplants, too... better with sunshine, except that in this apartment our two windows face north (my previous apartment windows faced west). Although mine are not all plants that should be in the house, haha, I make them work out that way. I really need Spring to show up soon!! Blessings my friend!
ReplyDeleteI just love those block puzzles! And thanks for the book recommendation. I just got a copy of The Blue Castle on my Kindle. I think the purple lily is my favorite. Too bad about the maggots! The little devils! ;)
ReplyDeleteI was actually reading your current post (July 2020) and it skipped me over to this one!
