Happiness and Beatrix Potter

Don't wait for some kind of future when you're going to have a different situation. Do everything you can to feel as happy as you can right now.

The above quotation is from Gretchen Rubin's post this morning. Are you familiar with this author?  She first came to my attention when I read her book The Happiness Project. It's a great book, easy to read and full of good ideas.

I'm still watching a few Hopalong Hollow videos almost every day. I was watching one where Jeri  Landers created a Beatrix Potter tea. During the tea party she shared pages from her BP Journal and I realized I had that book and it had been too long since I has looked through it.  How could I have  set it aside and 'forgotten' that I had it?  Needless to say I have been enjoying looking through it again.

It's a chilly Spring day with showers. Not the kind of day to putter outside so I have done what housework I intended to do.We went for our 2 mile walk, carefully staying far from other walkers, not that there were many out and about.. The rest of the day is mine to do with as I please.
I hope you're finding pleasant things to keep you occupied as we wait this out.

Thanks for coming by today,   G.M.

  2. What a sweet little journal. Thank you for sharing it with us. I'm glad you were able to get out. It's been raining for two days here so I'm confined inside but actually enjoying my time.
    Stay well.
    Blessings,

  3. Hi Granny. I've been thinking about buying that Beatrix Potter book! It looks like a fun book to have. We have sun here today with a bit of cloud every once in a while. Going to be plus 8 so that should melt lots of our snow! Hope you are well. X Chy

  5. We walked along Lake Washington today, only 1.5 miles, but better than I could have done yesterday. I'll post about how we got there.

  11. Words to live by! A beautiful journal. We are keeping busy here, well as busy as we get these days. What I probably miss the most is square dancing, but that is okay, we'll get back to it eventually. We are doing a contactless egg delivery tomorrow. A lot of organizing and emails and wishing we had more eggs, but doing the best we can.

  13. Plenty of places for this idiot to voice his uneducated opinion. I've reported this to blogger. I will igonore any future ones and send them to spam. I've just had enough of it already. Life is going on out there, & death, and all this kid wants to cry about is how we've ruined his life by coming before him. So stupid indeed. Thank you for stopping over, I suspected that Wispy & I were not the only ones. I don't know what Google can do, there is always the there is the village idiot leaving comments and send to spam....

  14. Thanks GM for a lovely upbeat post. That journal looks fascinating, so I must see if the library has it (when they reopen). I used to love the Beatrix Potter books but don't seem to have any left now - must have given them away to others for their children. I might have to look at getting some, just for me! Take care and stay safe, Mxx

  15. I read via FaceTime to a grandchild in DC and one in California today - I almost took Beatrix Potter off the shelf to read the first one, and I think next time I will. Her stories and illustrations are always good for the soul - young souls and old!

  16. I have that book somewhere, too! It may be packed away in a tote. I especially enjoyed that episode of Hopalong Hollow. I'm finding plenty to do, but I need to get outside and walk. Maybe tomorrow? :)

  19. Hi, Granny! What a lovely little book and I agree — we have to be happy right here, right now because if we wait for some “perfect” time we will miss so much!

  20. I checked on Amazon about the Beatrix Potter book. I think I am going to need to settle for the paperback version as the hardback editions are in the hundereds of dollars. But I do enjoy Beatrix Potter. I have a DVD about her life. Have you seen it?

    1. I was so fortunate to find my B.P. journal at a thrift store. I've seen just how expensive they are on Amazon. I hope you find a paperback version.
I do have the DVD of her life and I must have watched it 3 or 4 times already.
