Morning Walk

This was yesterday's walk when the sun shone and it was lovely. Today we walked in wind and rain and it was not pleasant. But I took advantage of the sunshine yesterday and got lots done outside. Today we're off to the plant shop to look for some perennials to fill in spots where plants have not survived the winter.

So here are a few pics I took yesterday.

These Hyacinths are in the park.

We have watched this house being built and it looks almost ready for people to move in. It's one of the more tasteful huge houses that have been built in the neighbourhood in the last few years. I like the built-out windows with the curved metal roofs. The entire house is covered with white tiles made of concrete. These tiles click together then are screwed to the walls. ( I know this only because when they were putting them on  DH went over to ask questions!)

I hope the sun is shining where you live.  We're hoping for nicer weather tomorrow then back to rain on Friday. Who knows if that will happen. Forecasting the weather seems like an impossible job.

Thanks for coming by,   GM

  2. Beautiful photos and the house is really very nice. It's sunny here in Florida today but already getting a bit too hot, we had to turn on the air conditioner today for the first time this year. Hope you get more sunshine soon!

  3. Beautiful sights from your walk. I especially like the layout of the hyacinths. I'll bet it smells nice when you walk by.
That is an attractive new house. Very interesting how the tiles click together.

  4. That is a really big house! Even the bit at the side is about double ours. I can't imagine having all that space or all that cleaning! Our weather is so unpredictable too at the moment. I'm hoping it settles soon.

  6. I will be watching here to see what perennials you choose to fill your holes, for I am needing a few too. We had just a bit of rain today, but was hoping for more. We are quite dry here for this time of year. I like the neat and clean look of the new house.

  11. Well, I'm curious what kind of perennials you bought ... shortly before Easter - when we had very warm weather - I bought and planted black currants and gooseberry bushes - and also pansies. The last few days we had it very cold with sleet like almost everywhere in Europe. Now we hope for nice spring weather with sun and blue sky. I covered the plants to protect them from the frost. And I do handicrafts inside - bake bread and cakes - and sew on the sewing machine.
Many greetings to you. Make yourself comfortable og nice. Viola

  14. What a beautiful yellowbell bush and I bet those Hyacinths smelled wonderful! Such a huge house! I would be lost in a house that big after all these years in a cabin. Thank you for such a nice comment this morning.

  15. I agree that the design of that house is tasteful, at least to my taste -- ha! One thing that got my attention is the less than straightforward entrance to what appear to be garages. I've never heard of that sort of tile siding, but it sounds pretty durable and weather-resistant. Is it common in your area to have such a lot of pavement and nothing green, in the front of a house? Or is this not the front? I suppose they could put big planters after the fact, but it looks so bare of life at this point.

Your beautiful hyacinths and forsythia pictures show the beautiful living things that bless the eyes :-)

  16. Our weather is much the same as yours. And next week is supposed to be warm and sunny! That is a pretty looking house. The new ones are so big these days. Hyacinths and forsythia add a lot of colour to the landscape these days. Enjoy the sun today before the rain tomorrow.

    The house is nice.
