Nothing but Flowers

These days it's all about flowers as I enjoy the ones that are blooming in my yard and plan which ones I should buy this year.

The Tulips are doing well and so is the Leopard's Bane (doronicum)

I'm going to have to hoe out some of the Pansies ( or maybe they're Violas) . A few of last year's plants self-seeded generously.

The Tulips in the pots are the ones I planted last Fall. It was a bag of mixed dark red and red streaked with yellow. I'm quite pleased with how they turned out. When they're done I'll put them into the ground so they can bloom next year. Apparently it's not advised to keep them in a pot for 2 years.

The trees below are in a yard just off the path through the park. So pretty.

I bought a new Clematis this week. It's called H F Young. I hope next year mine will look like the one in this picture. Right now it is very small ( but has 3 blooms).

Thanks for visiting and letting me go on about flowers. Next time I'll have a little project to share.

  1. Just beautiful flower pictures Granny! I love the flowers blooming in your yard and especially love your new clematis. It reminds me of home when I was growing up. My mom always had a beautiful dark purple clematis blooming all summer by the back porch. Thanks for the memories!

  2. Gorgeous! Your garden is full of color already! I have always wanted to force tulips but never have. Do you just leave the pots outside all winter and then bring them into the house?

    1. I left the pots outside in a sheltered area and brought them on to the porch once they showed some growth. Once on the enclosed porch they grew quite quickly. I don't actually bring them into the house. It's too warm and would shorten their bloom time.

  5. Hello. I read your comment at Rose's blog and now see we have so much in common...the love of flowers, birds (I also go birding & have a birding photo blog), and walking. In fact, my most recent post at Hootin' Anni's is photos of a park & wildflowers. Your tulips are stunning & love the trees in your park!!

I will begin to follow you & your blogging. Nice to meet you.

  6. Hi G.M. ...Here we have the 'Bowral Tulip Festival'...it is well known. Strange that here in New South Wales we'd grow Tulips. Your flowers look just great- very healthy and vibrant color. Regards. KEV.

  7. Beautiful flowers. I am wondering what effect the recent snow and cold nights will have on my clematis. I hope yours does well.

  12. Forgot to tell you about cleaning the air fryer. My new air fryer is very easy to clean. I just pull out the basket and wash it with the other dishes. There is a tray inside that comes out for easy cleaning too. Since things are cooked with air there really is no mess. Perhaps you are thinking of a DEEP FRYER and not an air fryer!?

  15. Spring is a beautiful season, full of all colors of the rainbow. I must get out and fling some Zinnia seeds about. We just got dumped on with a heavy snow this week, it's all gone now, but it was branch breaker. Everything popped up nature is amazing.
