We found lovely blueberries and bought a 20 lb box. They have been sorted and cleaned ( that's what the people in the second picture are doing.)
This big blueberry harvester makes the need for human pickers unnecessary.
The fields are huge and the rows seem to go on forever.
The next 3 pictures are in reverse order. I meant to show the lovely apricots we bought before the picture of the jam and scones but blogger loaded them like this.
These apricots are not 100% ripe yet but we were able to buy 2 bags of very ripe ones ready for jam NOW so they were greatly marked down. We had the jam made within hours and it is delicious. Last year we couldn't find nice apricots anywhere so we started looking early this year and were lucky to find some.
Today was a lovely day, not too hot and with a pleasant breeze. I hope your day was lovely too.
Thanks for coming by, GM
Everything you make looks delicious Granny! I'd love to try your apricot jam. And how nice to get those fresh blueberries. I eat blueberries every morning with my breakfast! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteFresh blueberries sound delicious and the apricots and jam look so yummy. I would love to taste it!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
I had no idea that Blueberries were harvested in rows by a machine- thanks for the information G.M. Stay well there. Regards. KEV.
ReplyDeleteI do wish we could find fields of blueberries! Your jam looks so delicious.
ReplyDeleteYour jam has a gorgeous colour. I can just imagine that spread on your lovely scones :)
ReplyDeleteThe jam and scones look delicious, like Diane I would love to taste it.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a lovely day indeed! I would love having all that delicious farm fresh fruit and the things you made look delicious! Enjoy all of it! :)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you told me about your blog! I subscribed and I am excited to read it and to get to know you better! I love apricots and blueberries! Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteDon't you love how Blogger does its own thing sometimes? LOL The blueberry and apricot goodies look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteInteresting how the blueberries are harvested. Apricot jam looks soooo good.
ReplyDeleteI always upload one picture at a time so I know exactly where it will be placed.
This all looks like summertime to me! I wonder if I might find some apricots at a farm stand on my way down from the mountains... The blueberry farm is fascinating. I've never seen more than a few bushes at one time in someone's garden.
ReplyDeleteSo that's what all the bushes we've driven by are producing! Didn't know they could pick blueberries by machine.
ReplyDeleteIt is really not easy to find delicious apricots in the market here, too. They must be completely ripe to get a delicious jam. O your jam looks VERY delicious!
ReplyDeleteBlogger has sometimers his own mind :)
Funny blueberries! We do not have such big bushes here, ony small plants with blueberries in the forest. Good people pick them up with a lot of patience - in former time to survive, because this Bavarian Forest was very poor.
But in the supermarket we can buy such blueberries as you show here. Now I know more about how these berries are prepared for selling.
Apricot jam is yummy! I haven't had any in a long time. We eat very little jam or jelly.
ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine 20# of blueberries all at once! Wow! My son would love that though for the cheesecakes he makes! All this fruit is making me want some fresh apricots!! Yum!
ReplyDeleteWould love to have a FIELD of blueberries!

Fresh blueberries and apricots, it does not get any better than that! The essence of summer, right there! The jam looks delicious. Now you can have a "jar of summer" during wintertime (if it lasts that long!).
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely!!! I love apricot jam and blueberries are a treat! (When blogger loads my pictures wrong I delete and try again usually this works, but be careful if you have text already as i have accidentally deleted the text and had to write it again)
ReplyDeleteOh my the apricot jam looks so good!! My brother brought us some Oregon Blueberries and they are huge!
ReplyDeleteI love blueberries and here the one I buy come from your country.
ReplyDeleteI love apricot and recently made an apricot Charlotte.
