Another beautiful day filled with sunshine. It's going to be hot by afternoon and hot is the forecast for the coming wee. Hard to believe we're going into the last week of July.
My Hollyhocks are blooming
And finally some Zinnias are too. Sorry about the awful pictures but you get the idea.
I've always called these Montbretia but they're also known as Crocosmia. Apparently their common name is 'falling stars' but I've never heard them referred to as such. Hummingbirds absolutely love them.
I hope you're having a lovely peaceful Sunday. Thanks for taking the time to visit. G.M.
Hollyhocks always remind me of my grandpa's garden. He loved them, and like yours, the colours were superb.
ReplyDeleteWe have quite a few of the red Crocosmia Lucifer spread around the yard, all started from one big clump we rescued from the neighboring property before the bulldozers got to work. I love them and the hummers they attract.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are beautiful! Wishing you a blessed Sunday too!
ReplyDeleteLove your flowers. You must have a green thumb, girl!!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see your blooming flowers.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so beautiful. Hollyhocks take me back to my childhood....there's something itchy about them .....is it the leaves? I do love them though and always love zinnias...yours are looking great. That last pic is phenomenal too....so much color. I bet you attract a lot of hummers! Take good care.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers of July :-) Glory to God. I love yellow zinnias -- and those hollyhocks are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh Granny Marigold with the green thumb, your garden is gorgeous! How I love that pink hollyhock. Your zinnias are going to put on a show now for sure.
ReplyDeleteAny and ALL of your gardening flowers are eye candy!! As a child I used to pick hollyhocks and make Hawaiian leis!!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty blooms! The heat has taken a toll of my pretties I am afraid. Mercy! Happy Week to you. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteOur Zinnias are awfully slow this year.
ReplyDeleteThese photos of your Zinias and of the "falling stars" are very fine. I love Hollyhocks very very much. Blesseing garden, a joy for many!
ReplyDeleteI love hollyhocks and yours look superb. I've never had any luck growing them as they always seem to curl up their toes with rust - but I still love them :)
ReplyDeleteYour Hollyhocks are beautiful. Ours were too...a good year for them.
ReplyDeleteLovely Hollyhocks!!
ReplyDeleteI love those hollyhocks!
