July in the flower garden this year is superb. Everything is growing and blooming. I have had to water a lot since it's been a while since we had any rain. Our 6 rain barrels are getting low ( don't tell DH but when I get tired of dragging pails of water I turn on the hose).
That pink Hydrangea is Endless Summer.
Along the tile path to the front door I've planted a row of red Astilbes.
Perennials fuchsias are just starting to bloom. Hummingbirds love them.
Daylilies are also starting to bloom. This one is one of my favourites
It's a beautiful sunny day and I'm doing laundry. I hope to do more Spring Cleaning ( maybe it would be Summer cleaning by now). This week I'm taking down all the teacups not behind glass doors in the diningroom. ( there are at least 50 so it's not a job to do in one day). I wash them, wipe the shelves, then put them back again. I only do housework in the mornings; I like to keep afternoons for sitting on the porch and reading.
What are your plans for this week?
Thanks for visiting today, GM
Good afternoon Granny!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is a "feast for the eyes"! Gorgeous flowers!!
And I really like your daily routine.. housework in the mornings, sitting on the porch and reading in the afternoons.. perfect! :)
Blessings, Linda
How beautiful! I am almost speechless! Every flower is blooming beautifully and looks so fresh and new. Wow! I love this post!
ReplyDeletebeautiful garden and flowers, they are thriving. I have my energy in the morning, so that is when I get things done. When I'm tired I stop and rest. Pacing has become an important way of life for me, it gets done eventually.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flowers. I love that lavender. I can't imagine how much work it is to wash all of the teacups you own. The house stays pretty clean with just the two of us. Since it's so hot the windows are rarely open so there isn't any dust coming in. :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
It is dark and raining heavily here, so it is lovely to see your garden looking so summery and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNo big plans here for the week. Have fun cleaning all those cups :)
Wow your garden is absolutely beautiful. I LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful flower-garden!
ReplyDeleteAfter many grey weeks now you enjoy sunn wather. But the earth is becoming dry very soon. We exspect some heat next days. During the last days we often had some healthy rain, not too much but good. It was a little bit cold.
I also can do housework only before noon. In the afternoon I look after the animals.
I wish you joy to clean the teacups. A nice summer-work.
Many greetings from Dori from the Bavarian Forest!
ReplyDeleteWell, i just finished my Monday chores and it 4: 20 and I'm finally free to sit and check some blogs. Dinner might be late.
ReplyDeleteI did a couple of hours of work on the yard before moving inside. It's 84 now, too warm for me I think tomorrow I'll have a shorter list.
Oh my goodness, your flowers are just gorgeous. I could look at those pictures all day! Thank you for the eye candy!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful flowers!
ReplyDeleteyour garden looks so beautiful! I love reading too!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular garden. The colors, and I just bet the scents are wonderful! That cleaning must be a love/hate chore?!!?

ReplyDeleteYour Garden Flowers look absolutely splendid...wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is gorgeous! I would love sitting out there and reading! I don’t know if I would enjoy washing those teacups though! I have a collection which has been packed up for quite a long time now for that very reason!
ReplyDeleteYour summer flowers are lovely.
ReplyDeleteWow, everything looks amazing. And your secret is safe with me. Pull out that hose and save your back. Happy Gardening.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are beautiful! I could learn a thing or two from you. My plans for this week include freezing more gooseberries and canning beets.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you for using the hose, lol. Beautiful flowers! I'm doing lots of reading, too! :)
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so pretty! I should
ReplyDeletedo some summer cleaning too. Stay cool!
Your flowers look absolutely gorgeous! I tried planting Astilbes last year but I think our summers are much too hot, they weren't looking good at all. So this spring I moved them to a shadier spot and they're looking a bit perkier this year. Not nearly like yours though. Chris
