Morning on the Lake

Another day, another walk by the lake.  You can see how clogged the lake has become with all the water lilies!  There's a heron in the picture but it's hard to see it.

In an effort to get rid of some of the lily foliage a machine was on the lake yesterday and also today.

As we watched it came to the shore and disgorged its load. I hope that the foliage will be made into compost. I can imagine what good compost that would be.

Here you can see where the machine has passed through.

Finishing my post today with an Autumn teacup.

 Thanks for visiting,   Granny M.

  1. Wow, that is a large load of water lilies. Composting does sound like a good idea. Pretty autumnal tea cup. It won't be long before that will be seeing a lot of use.

  4. I love water lilies, but I can see why they need to be cleared out a bit here. Your poor lake would choke without that machine :)

  8. A quiet and peaceful morning. But: What too much is,i s too much! The waterlilies take all the water under their dominion. So the truck made good work. Sometime mankind must help nature, which is ill because of faults of mankind..
The proverb is very sensitive and in my feelings.
The autumn-cup remembers us, that summer is saying good bye soon - -

  10. It is funny how something so beautiful can be so invasive. I still cannot help but love them. And I love your fall quote.

Yes, if I ever get my Christmas quilt finished, I will show it. But it is not much. Truth be told, I am not real happy with it. I hope I like it better when it is done.
