September in the Garden

The Phlox have done remarkably well considering the hot, dry weather we've had for so many weeks.
Two years ago I introduced a single white and pink plant into my otherwise white Phlox patch. Now you can see how the pink ones are taking over.

The Japanese Anemone "September Charm" is as rampant as always. Again, I didn't  water them at all.
The bees love these flowers. I took some pictures of bees in the blooms but they all turned out blurry.

The Morning Glories did get watered and they have done very well. Some vines left the arbour and attached themselves to the nearby Rudbeckias.

I'm late in showing you my August mug.

Here's another Autumnish cup and saucer

And 2 more tea cups that have no matching saucers. But I keep looking in case I do find them.

I hope your week is going well as we slide toward the weekend. A long weekend here in Canada and then next week school will begin again.  We'll have to watch those school zones that we've been sailing through for the past 2 months.

Thanks for visiting, GM

  4. The phlox are pretty but the Japanese Anenome gives me the shivers - we once had a garden where this had taken over and I tried and tried to curb its spread but never could say that I succeeded. I hope you find those matching saucers one day soon. I really like the one with the grapes on it :)

  5. Your flowers are looking quite lovely despite your heat and lack of rain. I have never had much luck growing phlox but yours are gorgeous! My morning glory is growing rampant but not a single bloom which is disappointing. Enjoy your long weekend!

  6. Beautiful flowers. School started here August 14! The kids are well into the routine by now and thankfully I don't spend much time out around school zones anymore. :-) Have a great Thursday!
    Blessings,

I love Phlox - I love Herbst-Anemone - I love Sonnenhut and the blue flowers of the wind.

  15. Your anemones are just about identical to the ones I saw at church today!! The ones in my garden never look so good... I don't know what they are lacking... maybe water *and* sun....

  16. You certainly do have some lovely Flowers in your Garden G.M. It is the second day of Spring here - the day started warm though gave way to a chilling breeze- because there is snow to the South...hoping for warmer days. Best Wishes. KEV.

  17. Beautiful flowers. My phlox is taking over and I will need to divide it this year. It's all white. Love Japanese anemones - I had one in a pot last year, and it died over the winter. Perhaps it needs to be in the ground. They are such pretty autumn flowers.

  18. Such pretty flowers! You have a true green thumb. In the photo of the two cups without saucers, I do think I have a cup/saucer in that exact pattern on the right.

  19. I do have that cup/saucer! It's "Rosina." But the gold trim on mine is slightly different. A thinner band around the base, and less gold on the handle. But otherwise exactly the same!
