Digging up the street continues and work slowly moves closer to our house. I don't know if I'm better off watching what they do out there or not. I mean, they'll move whatever they need to in spite of me standing there and moaning. Getting off our street is difficult. The workers are on both ends of our short street now.
On to a more cheerful subject, Eldest Daughter is painting flowers on my very old milk can. It's already looking so nice. I don't know where she got her talent but it wasn't from me :)
Thanks for coming by.
Not fun having your serenity threatened, and your plantings.
ReplyDeleteHope to see your milk can when it is done, how wonderful to have such a talented daughter!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way as you do about your street. The road I live on is only two miles long, but when the highway department goes through to patch potholes or trim the brush on the sides of the road it's a nightmare. And I agree that my standing there watching and moaning won't change anything because they are going to do what they are going to do, but I still watch! :)
ReplyDeleteThat milk can that your oldest daughter is painting on is going to be AMAZING! She is so talented.
What a great thing to do with an old milk can :)
ReplyDeleteI hope nothing happens to any of your plantings, I know how much you love them. Your daughter is doing a great job with the milk can. I love purple!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Stopping by to say thank you for your kind thoughts and condolences on Eddies passing.
ReplyDeleteI do hope to get back to regular blogging soon.
In the meantime, my thanks again to you.
All the best Jan
Soon it will pass and surely the task done by the workers will end and satisfy you.
ReplyDeleteThe milk jar will adorn a corner of your house. There is no better personal satisfaction than saying: My daughter did it.
I would be right with you in not knowing whether to watch or not watch...I probably couldn't resist but hate it while doing it.
ReplyDeleteI am ready for fall colors, but not what follows.
Aww, your milk can is going to look beautiful. How nice to have such a talented daughter!
ReplyDeleteYou must have a lot of noise all day in your street hope it doesn’t last long.
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of those old milk cans too. Nice that your daughter is painting the flowers on it for you.
ReplyDeleteI have a milk can that my step father put a tractor seat on it. I"ll have to take a picture and put it on my blog to show you.
I don't know if it's the same thing but AT&T tore up our yard twice this summer. Ugh. It all turned out okay but now they've got teams banging on doors all up and down the street, saying your neighbors just put all their stuff with AT&T and if you're smart you'll do the same, or words to that effect, hahaha! I am unmoved. We have a milk can just like that. I can't believe how heavy it is. It is black and it sat on the front porch for a long time but then I went in a different direction and told TG to move it and now it's in the garage. I would not be able to do what your talented daughter is doing either, but maybe I should paint it a bright color and think of some clever place to let it shine. xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I'm sorry about the street work! I hope it's done quickly.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter's flowers look very dainty and pretty.
Slowly, slowly I move to autumn, but very slowly..
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is beautiful drawing flower son the old milk-bowl!
The work on the street beside your house makes a lot of distress. What is dear Kitty saying/doing in this noise?
