Just to say Hi

We're still having very warm weather and doing our best to keep cool. Although I must admit I baked bread yesterday and while the oven was on I made a pie.

July seemed to go by so quickly. I've noticed how the days are getting shorter. In July we lost an hour of light a day and between now and the end of August we'll lose an additional hour and 37 minutes.

Nothing much is happening here but I did want to say hi. I hope, like Snoopy, you're managing to keep cool.

Thanks for visiting!

  6. Like you, we're having really hot weather. We have a funeral tomorrow and since the church still has no electricity from the storm, it has been moved to a close by small towns City Hall. Dennis and I are working in the kitchen for the lunch afterwards and we have never been to this place. It's a bit nerve wracking but we'll figure it out. I woke up early today to boil the pasta for a huge macaroni salad and used my instapot to boil three dozen eggs for the salad and deviled eggs. I'll take them tomorrow for the lunch. It's supposed to be hot tomorrow too so I'm glad we'll have A/C there. I'm wondering if church will be cancelled since there will be no lights. I guess we'll find out soon.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  9. We are hot and humid also. I hate spending my time indoors I wait all winter for the time to sit on the porch. So the ceiling fans are going at full speed and I spend most of my time out there. Bread and a pie sounds delicious.

  10. Strange your mentioning the days growing shorter as I was just commenting to my son that our days are growing longer! I can pull the curtains now at 5pm instead of 4pm, and it makes such a difference :)

  11. We're SO SO hot here too, and the humidity makes it feel like it's well over 100 each day. Ugh. I will survive August, as I do each year.

  12. Hot, humid and bmno rain for weeks here in West Virgini. At least the nights are cooler now that it is August, but I long for a week of rainy days.

  15. Hi lovely GM! I DO love Snoopy. It's so hot here, too. I still use the oven like you do. What kind of pie? I must go check my rhubarb! Keep as cool as you can, good GM.

  17. To answer your question about David and Goliath. Yes, did tell them that David cut off his head! Also that Goliath had 6 fingers. :)
