My computer has been giving me problems but Middle Son has worked his magic on it and I think I will be okay. I don't know what anyone does who doesn't have some friend or family member that is tech-savvy to help when problems arise.
On Friday Youngest Son and Eldest Daughter came to plant my bulbs. They raked the beds and covered them with landscape fabric cutting X's where the bulbs went in. These raised beds have in the past been used for vegetables.
Eldest also planted some of her bulbs since I had both empty pots and lots of soil.
My foot is slowly getting better ( not nearly fast enough for impatient me). Housework has been set aside mostly these 2 weeks. Tomorrow I'll do laundry and get some much-needed baking done. Our weather forecast for the week can be summed up in one word....showers. I won't even be tempted to putter outside.
I hope your week is a good one. Hard to believe we'll be turning the calendar page to November very soon!
Thanks for visiting
Glad you got help with the bulb planting. Hope the foot heals soon for you. Not ready for it to be November. I'm already missing summer. But, with it being November, our daughter will be visiting, so that's something to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteI'll tell you what I do when my computer isn't working well: I pay my "computer guy" $125 per hour to take care of it. Last time this happened, several months ago, he made two visits here and took my machine home to install a new hard drive. And it's been worse since then!! I don't want to add one more "project" to my schedule, so I keep putting off calling him.... So we limp along.
ReplyDeleteBut only figuratively. You are limping, I assume, for real! May God speed your healing. I planted some daffodils for a change, last week, but still have a lot of irises to put in the ground. I confess to envying you the several people around you to do one thing and another. I am compiling a list of all the tasks that my family -- not coming until Christmas -- can do for me when they are here.

How nice to have help getting those bulbs in! Also nice to hear that your foot is on the mend. Keep us posted on your baking!
ReplyDeletePlanting bulbs is work now but a beautiful spring awaits you.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your foot is getting better, I'll keep praying that healing goes faster!! :)
I'm pretty good with computer problems but Ken is the one I turn to. :)
I planted a few crocus today, and also my indoor hyacinths. Hope your foot gets better soon.
ReplyDeleteGood children! Congratulations! I enjoy to see a good family-team! Thanks goodness your foot is becoming better. For a house-and family-wife with a lot of work in house, kitchen and garden very hard to have any problems in moving. Sorry for the bad weather, which will come to you. Often we get similar weather. I hate strong and not moving rain. Somehow I love November- a quiet time before Christmas
ReplyDeleteOur bulb order from the Skagit Valley arrived this week. Now we need some dry weather to finish preparing the beds and geting the bulbs planted.
ReplyDeleteKiddos are the best helpers. It's good news that your foot is improving, even though slowly. I am trying to be more conscious of every step I take, but that is not always an easy thing.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you got all that help with planting bulbs! Glad your foot is slowly getting better. What are you baking?
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have children that love their Mom. Your post warmed my heart.
ReplyDeleteI would be lost with my computer and phone if I didn't have my younger son to turn to. Older Son knows basic stuff, but Younger Son is a bit of a whiz at it :)
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Granny Marigold! Lovely pics and such considerate children! Yes, October has flown by and November is upon us — hard to believe, especially here where it is still warm and dry. Hoping your foot is better and you are right as rain very soon!
ReplyDeleteTechnology is supposed to make our lives easier but boy, it can be challenging. You raised some great kids. I'm glad they got your bulbs in. Housework is overrated! I'm trying a new cleaning routing this week...we'll see. Enjoy the rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you have family close by who are willing to help you with the gardening and technical things...and whatever else you need to have done. What a blessing!
ReplyDeleteAt least when it is rainy, it feels all snuggly to stay inside...at least when it is cooler. I understand about wanting to get back on your feet! Without pain, that is.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so sorry to hear about your mishap with your foot, but glad that it is mending, and you are able to get back out again. So wonderful to have your children to help you, that is such a blessing! It has been a nice October, but the rainy/snowy month of November is now just around the corner! Blessings to you dear friend, hopefully your foot feels back to itself soon!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that your foot is better!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your foot is healing. In the meantime, how nice to have such capable helpers... with the computer and garden tasks.
ReplyDeleteI do hope your on the mend soon. How wonderful your family planted your bulbs you will think of them fondly when they bloom in the spring.
ReplyDeleteCathy
I'm jealous of having your family close by to help with everything. You are blessed. I'm glad your foot is improving, even if it is slower than you like. We are supposed to have showers beginning Nov. 1. I'm glad it's not supposed to rain on Halloween like it did last year. It was so cold and rainy for the little ones.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
Bulb planting is something I need to do!
ReplyDeleteI too find that if I have a technical problem with phone or computer it's sons and indeed grandsons (sometimes) to the rescue.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
