Haircut and a Ferret

I seem to be having some trouble with blogger today. So far I have not been able to upload any pictures. Very strange.

It has been a couple of busy days. After all these past months of not having anyone over except our immediate family we invited DH's family over. We visited, played games, and had tea. It was sure different.  All day yesterday I cleaned the house and baked ( Butter tarts and Date Squares) . I cut up vegetables and made dip. I washed grapes and cut them into smaller bundles. Different people eat different foods and I try to have something for every diet.
For some reason I thought that tomorrow, the 14th, was father's Day so I made enough food for that as well. I was greatly surprised when I found out I was a week early!

In the middles of yesterday's busyness Kate came to give us much needed haircuts. My hair had  grown so long and so had my DH's.

I'm wondering if I should have asked her to trim more.

Then M decided he'd like his hair trimmed too.  He's been growing his long for quite some time.
We're very thankful for our Kate and her ability to cut hair.

We walked this morning and I made it around the lake. First time since my hip and back problem.
We met a man in a mobility scooter. He had his pet ferret on a leash. We stopped to chat and take a few pictures.

The day has gone by so quickly. I am making homemade pizza for supper so I better get the dough made and rising.
I hope you are having a lovely weekend.    GM

  2. I meant to tell you I had trouble last night loading photos on my photo blog...I have been hearing others talk about having a hard time. First the screen comes up but is blank. Then it came up but clicking did not work. Finally it came up and worked. And I was preparing tomorrow's post a few minutes ago and went through basically the same scenario!

  3. So nice that you were able to entertain and visit with your DHs family.
Nice, too, for Kate to be able to cut everybody's hair. Your hair is very pretty.
Glad you are able to get out for your walks again. Can't say I've ever seen a ferret on a walk.

  7. I'm so glad you were able to get out and about and take a walk. And you had people over for food! That's a celebration right there! I thought Father's Day was tomorrow too. I just realized late this afternoon that it's next week. I wonder why we were all so confused this year? Oh, congrats on the haircuts. I haven't had one since January.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  8. Your hair is very attractive :)
I have heard of others also having trouble with photos. I am finding I publish my blog but it doesn't show up anywhere for at least an hour. Strange.
The ferret reminds me of son's rats!
Sounds like you had a great family get-together :) Mxx

  12. Wonderful hair! Is it you? No! this is your granddaughter, isn't it??

I want to see all these faces in front! :)

What a nice ferret. I did not know, that you can keep them nearly like a dog.

I think your selfmade pizza was marvellous!

    1. The person cutting hair is my oldest granddaughter. She's cutting her cousin's hair. I'm sorry I can't show his face

( his parents prefer me not to).

    2. Dear Granny marigold, I can understand, that you cannot show the faces. Its fine to have such a granddaughter who is cutting hair in the house1 My husband always is cutting the hair of our three sons. AH! Your her cousin's hair it is!! All the comments say YOU have such fine hair. So I wanted to see your face, because I could not imagine :) Do you also have long hair? Fair or grey? Is the last hair-cutting.photo a boy with splendid long hair?

      many greetings from Dori

    3. I'm sorry I was not clear about who is who in the [pictures. I am the one with the long hair in the first picture and my granddaughter is the one cutting hair. But she is not the one who lives here in this house. The little boy with long hair is the youngest grandson and he does live here with his parents and also his 17 year old sister.

  15. I finally got an appointment for a haircut but it's two weeks out! Just having to put my hair in a ponytail a lot...

Considering all your baked goods is making me hungry! I better go to bed before I start snacking.

  16. I know that you were thankful to get personal treatments with hair cuts. How wonderful! Girl, I was about to the stage of cutting mine myself. I actually trimmed my bangs three times before I could get into my beautician. I wear my hair really short and it gets on my nerves bad when it has grown out. LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  17. Sounds like a nice tea you had. And meeting a ferret! Fun! Glad everyone's hair is now cut. I think I need a few inches trimmed, too. My daughter can do that when I really feel the urge. Last time she cut it a little shorter than I wanted, so I'll keep a closer eye on her this time around, lol.

  19. It's so wonderful to get a haircut - I went to the salon a week or so ago. Masks all around. That's quite a sight to see someone with a pet ferret.

  20. Your hair was long and VERY pretty! Doesn't it feel good to get it whacked off? I finally cut my own hair today, and I'm so happy I did. I was weary of it all. Sounds like a grand get together with family!
