June Blooms

More Irises are opening. This yellow one is one of my favourites.

The old Mock Orange bush is as lovely as it is every June.

I brought some little blooming branches in but they wilted so quickly.

The white Peony is always the first one to open. I brought in a few of the flowers to enjoy as I work in the kitchen. The scent is wonderful. I love how each white flower has a dot or two of red inside.

Here you can clearly see those dots of red. Makes me wonder if all Peonies used to be red and although breeders were able to develop other colours the white ones retain a small touch of the original colour.

Thanks for popping by.  I promise I'll find something besides flowers to post about next time. It's just that not much is happening except in the garden!!

  6. Such lovely irises! Don't you want to send me a piece of the 2nd one? The peonies remind me of the tissue flowers we used to make!

  7. Don't apologize about your flower posts. Hey, I like flowers! They don't whine, they don't argue, they don't throw tantrums. The just sit there looking pretty. And some of them even smell pretty. Can't beat that. :-)

  9. Your iris flowers are so beautiful. They remind me very much of my mother as she used to have several different ones growing in her garden. I really don't know why I haven't yet invested in some for this new garden. Mxx

  18. Your flowers all look beautiful. As far as I'm concerned you can keep on sharing them here.
I had iris and peonies in my former garden. None here, however, so it was so nice that you shared yours.

  20. That is quite the color of yellow the iris wears! I used to have a yellow iris but it wasn't much like yours.

  21. Your flowers are so beautiful! My flowers are blooming too except for the peonies, clematis and rhododendrons which have had their turn. I am hoping my Rhodies have another or two of blooms in them. This past season was too short to enjoy them. How do you keep the ants off your poppies? They crawl all over my blooms so I can't bring them in.
