Monday Chit Chat

Dear friends I'm so thankful for each one of you but most especially for those who assured me that they also do dumb things while distracted. I worry that it's my age but just maybe it has less to do with that and more to do with not being mindful. That is going to be an important goal for me in future.

We had a lovely morning walk. On this side of the lake the sun hadn't brightened up the sky yet...

...but once we reached the far side it was much brighter.  You can just see the tip of Mt. Baker in the middle back.

January apparently is National Hot Tea month and so I plan on drinking more tea and through the month I'll show one of my favourite teacups at the end of each post.  This one is one of my Japanese collection.

Thanks for coming by,  Granny M

  1. Beautiful!!! Mt Baker was the first mountain I ever saw! From Abbotsford! Over 20 years ago.... I don't think that it is age! Just distraction...I also do things like this when I am overtired or not feeling well

  5. Your new header is lovely, showing your beautiful teacups! The sky was very red here this morning, too, but we waited until the afternoon to walk. Happy New Year!

  8. Your lake pictures are wonderful. I am sure it was pleasant walking on the sunny side, but I really like best the picture of the shady side. Hot tea in your beautiful cups will be perfect for the cold days of January. Hilltop Post

  9. What a beautiful landscape for your morning-walk! Do I see some ice on the surface of the water?

    Hot-tea-month is a good name for January ! :)

Your teacups are precious and very nice.

  11. The scenery from your walk looks so pretty. I didn't know that January was hot tea month. I think I will join in the celebration as a warm cup of tea does seem especially nice after the holiday rush. It will be fun to see your tea cups each day. Happy New Year!

  12. I'm abit behind in reading your blog so I was sorry to read about the water running into your basement...but don't beat yourself up about it. When we were young women and forgot to watch the stove and supper burnt in the frying pan, we laughed it off and no one thought anything of it, but now if that same thing happens, we think the worst because of our age but really, nothing much has changed - we are still busy multi-tasking women who get sidetracked.
A month of tea sounds lovely. Do you like to try different varieties or do you stick with a favorite or two?

  16. I'm not able to go for walks any more so I always enjoy pictures from others who do. Love your teacup, I find tea is much more tasty when the cup is so pretty! Love your header, I can see every cup of tea at your house is very tasty.

  17. I had no idea that January was designated as the tea month. It's so interesting to learn about these things. Your teacup looks so delicate and pretty in the photo. And the mountain scenery is just breathtaking. It's not often that we get to see such grand views, especially here in the Netherlands where we don't have any mountains. It's really special to be able to see these types of landscapes in photographs. I'm glad you shared these with me.

  18. Oh you are not alone. I am finding that I am doing many more things that I attribute to not being mindful — I keep leaving the stove on for one — and I think I am just not paying attention. I am also getting quite clumsy which, of course, I blame on arthritis and trying to do things too fast. Age? Probably to some degree but I suspect our minds just move faster than our bodies and that is what creates the chaos. Don’t be hard on yourself —
