It's a lovely sunny afternoon and M came to ask if I had any sparklers as he needed some for a science experiment. We looked and sure enough I had some. Then he asked if I'd come outside and watch him, which I did. He started with the BBQ lighter but then Grandad brought out the torch and it went from experimenting with sparklers to seeing if the plastic cup would melt. Which it did.
Since it was so pleasant outside ( 7*C) I thought I'd cut off the old Hydrangea heads that didn't get done last Fall. Now it looks much better. I noticed that the Hellebores are showing new growth and I must get the old leaves cut off in the weeks to come. (That's them further down the path).
Today's teacup is by Royal Chelsea.
Thanks for coming by, GM
Mr D has been out pruning since the hard freeze we had a week or so ago. Love the cups, teacups make me feel good. :)
ReplyDeleteI rather like the dried hydrangea heads. I have several mixed into the dried arrangement in the Shanty.
ReplyDeleteGranny and Grandad always have the right feeling to understand new experiments! :)
ReplyDeleteWe here in the Bavarian Forest also have mild weather. Is spring approaching already? But I made often the experience, that winter came back, sometimes just for a few days. Greetings to your Kitty!!.
Pretty cup.
ReplyDeleteI used to love science projects when in school!!!
I must go and check my Hellebores....if it ever stops raining!
ReplyDeleteLove the teacups!

Don’t you just love science experiments? Haha! Glad it went as expected. Our weather has been lovely as well, today is a little chilly but it is going to warm right back up. I love warm winters, reminds me of home in South Texas. I was not made to bundle up! Of course, we still have February and March to go but so far it has been lovely. Knock on wood.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful teacup! There never seems to be a dull moment at your house. :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Beautiful tea cups! Oh, my youngest grands love a science experiment too. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteFun with science!
ReplyDeleteYou are ahead of us on the hydrangeas, but Tom did cut off old Hellebore leaves yesterday. We do need to make hay while the sun shines around there parts.
So nice that the science experiment was a success. I'm impressed that you were able to provide the sparklers.
ReplyDeleteI was considering going out to trim my hydrangeas today, but think I'll wait until rain isn't in the forecast.
We've had a warm day but a rainy one. Warm won't last long though.
ReplyDeleteI spotted the Memory Lane tea cup in your header - I have a couple of those.
I like a good science experiment! I also like the teacup :)
ReplyDeleteTaking part in a science experiment is a fun thing to do with grandchildren. I noticed hellebores beginning to barely thrust out of the ground a couple of days ago, and a few buds on tree branches. We're likely to have another cold snap before spring really shows up, but these signs are so hopeful! Love the teacup - very elegant.
