I get an e mail at the beginning of each week letting me know about any specials that the plant shop is offering. This week's sale was on mixed planters and we took a drive to buy a couple to add some pretty colour to the porch.
But which to choose when there were so many and no two exactly alike?
I settled on these 3, each had a couple of plants included that looked like the kind that would make it through the winter. That's always a bonus.
..... as well as 4 little paper pots each with a cheery Pansy. Can you see the pumpkins on the pots?
Our cool weather continues and I'd like to say I've been hard to work but the truth is I've been doing just the necessary chores and then reading.
Thanks for coming by, GM
It is wise just to do not more than the necessary work and then to read in a good book! I'm afraid of cool and wet weather like all people here now. We have a dream-September with a clear blue sky and a mild sun, like a dream. All love it! But in Greece and South Europe they have after a summer of terrible heat and fires nor terrible rain. What a catastrophe.
ReplyDeleteIt is not easy to choose the plants, when you see so many nice pots with autumn-flowers. You found some nice new guests for your loving home.
Oh I love all the flowers you chose.....and their pretty pots too. We got almost an inch of rain last night....so that makes me happy. It's been a very dry spring and summer here. Our hot days just left and now we have a long string of nice cool weather.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou picked some good one! Pansies are always so cheerful...they always make me smile:)
ReplyDeleteArent those beautiful planters? So full of colour with some very pretty choices.
ReplyDeleteHi GM! I have been thinking about buying some color at the plant store, too! Your pansies are so nice. I'm glad your weather is cooler and I hope you get lots of rain this fall to nourish the soil.
ReplyDeleteNow is a fun time to plant shop just for some spots of color. Your choices are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteSeptember is slump month, for our gardens and for us. We'll get busy later.
Here it is very hot and I don’t buy any plants for the moment. I will try after our holidays. If we plant now they will not survive at 34 degrees C !
ReplyDeleteThe colorful plants are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteJust the chores and then reading sound great to me. :)
So pretty we have had the hottest weather of the summer the past few days. I am ready for cooler.

I love your plant picks! But I'm SO done with wasting my money on plants that just burn up here... I'm ready for Fall!!

You are really good at picking out the right plants. All of those are so pretty. I can never make a decision and would probably left without any. :) It has been hot here but they say cooler weather for next week. Sure hope so.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful choice of pretty flowers - I think you have picked out some lovely ones :) xx
ReplyDeleteI love those flowers, how pretty! Our local nursery is just getting out the fall flowers and it (along with my grand's football games) encourage the fall feelling around here!
ReplyDeleteI'm all for reading a book all day long.
