Odd Plates

Recently some of the family joined us for supper. I thought I'd use some of my odd plates for a change.
They're all one-of-a-kind except for the 4th plate of which I have 2. That pattern is Harebell by Royal Albert.

My favourites are the first and last ones ( although I do like them all).

It's a long weekend here in Canada, not that it makes much difference once one is retired. Our weather has been a mix of showers and some sunshine. I believe our temperatures are below average unfortunately.  The tomatoes that we planted out are shivering as they await the warm weather.

Thanks for visiting.

  1. These are beautiful. I am glad you use them. I have some crystal goblets that my great-aunt gave my parents in 1960. They gave them to me. They are about 100 years old. I started using them because otherwise they sit in a cabinet and eventually no one remembers what they are. I hope my kids will have some memories of using them.

  6. There is absolutely no way I could choose a favorite from those. I think they are all so beautiful. Your collections are wonderful. Since I had to get rid of most of mine, I enjoy seeing your teacups and china. Have a wonderful Sunday!

  8. I think your guests were amazed about the table with these special plates and about delicious food ON the plates. Sometimes we old retired persons have more work during holy days, than the working people, to make them happy. This seems to be our task.

  14. I love the idea of using different plates! Number one and two are my favorites. You almost make me want to go the thrift store and collect different plates :) But I have downsized and can't fill up again. My storage space is limited. We have got summer temperature here, after a cold spring.

  15. Hard to choose amongst them, but I'll go with the second one as a favorite.

  16. As I look at each one, I think, "Oh, that is the prettiest," so I have to go back and look again... and again... and I like the top one best. <3

  17. Sure would love to have some of your cool weather, we're in the 90's with "feels like temp" of 106. I hate to think about July and August. Love every one of your plates, how delightful it would be to have a meal served on them. ♥

  19. My tomatoes are shivering, too. But this afternoon was lovely, so maybe things will warm up now. I love seeing a table set with a variety of dishes. Your plates are all pretty. I do like the blue-bordered one.
