It was a lovely morning for a walk and as we went along I saw this bird with a very huge wingspan sailing over the water at Willband. I watched and not once did it flap its wings as it seemed to float through the sky. Eventually it landed and we saw that it was a white pelican, a bird that's not *supposed* to be in this area. Wonder if it got blown off-track or why it's here!.
The pictures I took were inferior so here are a couple taken by others.
clouds....
.... and dandelions gone to seed.
Thanks for coming by 🌷
What a wonderful world! 🌺 🌸🌺 🌸 White "feathers" in each photo!!!...
ReplyDeleteWow that white pelican is an amazing bird. Had to be fun for you to see. Did it happen to drop any babies on it's way by? :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a sweet Mother's Day. It must have been amazing watching that pelican :)
ReplyDeleteThere is a place we go, or used to go in the spring and got to see pelicans....and we are in the middle of Indiana! I was never so surprised...I don't know if I read or if I assumed they pass through during migration.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day to you, too.
In recent years we have started having a large flock of white pelicans gathering on the bay and the lagoons near our cabin on Whidbey Island. Climate change?
ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful bird! The dandelions have just started to bloom here!
ReplyDeletePoor Pelican he needs to find his home. Our dandelions have not gone to wishes yet.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!

Almost looks like a teeny tiny snowball. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day! We sometimes see Pelicans here, they are probably just passing through and not staying!
ReplyDeleteNice photos... Thank you.
ReplyDeleteMother's Day yesterday was wonderful... a wonderful sunny day with fluffy clouds in the blue sky, good food, a big bouquet of flowers from the children and a walk through the forest with lots of talking and laughing... enjoying life.
Hug for you. I wish you many nice walks this week... Viola
Beautiful birds...
ReplyDeleteHappy Week!

With all the bad weather through the USA it would not surprise me at all if a lot of species have been blown off track. Beautiful photo. We have a lot of pelicans at Syvan Beach.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures of the Pelican. I saw one in Greece but never saw one here. It’s such a beautiful bird ! 😆
ReplyDeleteI heard that that kind of pelican is common in Mexico, and I do recall seeing lots when we were in Ensenada. So cool that you got to see it! - Sheila
ReplyDeleteI could watch pelicans for hours!
