It's a wet holiday Monday. A good thing I have books to read once laundry is done. I picked up 4 books at the thrift store last time I went to drop off some boxes. My last library choices were duds so I was happy to find these.
Yesterday we couldn't walk at Willband Creek because the person responsible for opening the gate ( to the parking lot) didn't show up so we walked a different trail. Stony Creek Trail where the water was flowing very swiftly. This creek has salmon that swim upstream around this time of the year and we saw several that were having a real struggle to succeed. We also saw many that had succeeded and of course died, as salmon do once they have spawned. Dead fish littered the banks where the water was shallow.
Diane asked about my pet rabbit. Cinnamon Bun is her name and I've had her for over 7 years. She was found and rescued by people who couldn't keep her so she came here. She's very sweet and loves to be patted. Among her favourite foods are cilantro, parsley and carrots. Here she's munching on a crust of bread which I rarely give her but I wanted her to hold still so I could get a picture.
I hope everyone's week is off to a good start. Thank you for coming by.
Cinnamon Bun is a cutie with interesting tastes in food.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet rabbit!
ReplyDeleteAll of your books look interesting to me. You'll have to let us know what you think once you've read them.
ReplyDeleteSeems a bit sad to see all of the dead salmon, but I guess that's the way nature intended.
Aww, Cinnamon Bun is a real cutie. Years ago my son had a large rabbit named Oreo. It had a black head and back legs with a ring of white around it's middle.
Hope your new books don't turn out to be duds, I just hate when that happens. I have a few on my bookshelf I need to donate. We've also had some rain, at long last. Texas is suffering from severe drought, hopefully that status has changed. Is your pet rabbit a house rabbit? Potty-trained? My son who lives with us said something about getting a pet rabbit and I just don't know how that would work.

ReplyDeleteIf you have managed to read my post about carrots, it happens that rabbits prefer the leaves of this vegetable (which is not a tuber as it is believed but a root). Now, where do we get leaves-stems? That is the question
Best regards
Well, look at your sweet rabbit! She is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOur weather is turning colder as expected. We have been much to warm for this time of year. I just finished the Irish christmas book in an audio there is a whole series I will get into at some point. I really enjoyed it. A couple of those books look great.

Hope you enjoy your new books, Cinnamon Bun sure is cute.
ReplyDeleteI#m sorry because of the hard life in nature for the fishes. Really heroes! Cinnamon Bun found the best home! It's not so easy to care for house-rabbits int he right way!
ReplyDeleteCinnamon Bun is such a great name, and she is so, so cute. I may have to get that book Always Pack A Candle...I looked it up on Amazon and I am pretty sure it is something I would love!
ReplyDeleteThose all look like good books. I'm curious what the Future Homemakers book is about. Hmmmm. All four look like books I would have chosen too. Cinnamon Bun is so sweet looking. I would want to snuggle with her and maybe she wouldn't like that. It's one of my favorite things about Zoey and Lizzie. They LOVE to snuggle. Our last dog was super loving but didn't snuggle at all.
ReplyDeleteSalmon always make me so sad. They struggle SO HARD to get upstream and then boom! They're dead. Really doesn't seem fair. :-)
I hope you had a great day and had fun reading one of your new books.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy

ReplyDeleteLove Cinnamon Bun. SO adorable.
