June

I spent some time this morning tidying up the porch and changing the quilt on the swing.

I got out these magazines and am paging through them when I sit down with my coffee.  Seems like the right week to do that.

The fern that I moved out onto the porch because it was too big for the sunroom isn't showing any signs of distress due to the move.

After lunch I puttered outside. It was warm and sunny but it never occurred to me that I should wear a hat so now my face is a little sunburnt. We've had so few sunny days. I need to remember again about a hat.

 Lady's Mantle

There's also Sweet William in this box but it's not blooming yet.

A little fairy in the Lily of the valley patch.

Thanks for coming by, G.M.

  3. It looks like your home is bursting at the seams with "summertime fun". Those magazines are great! I almost wish we had been in London this week instead of last month. But the traffic has to be awful, so maybe not!

  6. It is important to wear a hat, as we get older or skin becomes much more sensitive. The box that you planted the Sweet Williams in is going to be so pretty. I hope you sent photos of it when it's blooming. Last but not least, your porch looks so inviting; what a lovely place to sit and relax.

  7. It's definitely hat-wearing time here too. So, that means bad-hair-days ahead. I love your porch updates; summer is here!

  8. Natures miracles are found in even the simplest of things. - What a true and fine word! I hope, that some friendly sun will come a little bit oftener into your region after many cloudy rainy days. You always find good ways to go through your days and trough your loving house and garden full of talking flowers and plants. I wish you a happy and blessed June in the area of growing light in the sky and in our hearts. Many greetings from the Bavarian Forest from Dori A good hat for the sun is a good idea!

  10. Your porch looks so inviting and cozy. I forgot to put sunscreen on the first two days of gardening and ended up with a "gardener"s tan". So, the third day I wore a sleeveless shirt to try and blend it all in! Have a great week!

  11. The red patch quilts on your swing and chair are just charming! Such a pop of color. What a nice place to sit and rest. I'm not surprised that your fern is happy with its move :) This Jubilee celebration has been wonderful, hasn't it? I got a little teary when I saw the Queen on the balcony and the crowd sang "God Save the Queen." What a life!
