We have a small patch of rhubarb but it doesn't produce enough for our needs. I bought some from a woman who had advertised on Marketplace. Hers were advertised as organic and had very sturdy stalks. There was a lot more than this but I didn't remember to take a picture at first.
I made 6 little jars of rhubarb/orange/cranberry jam.....
...and an apple/ rhubarb crisp. Also froze 3 bags.
We had rain this morning but now (after lunch) it seems to be clearing up a bit. I'd like to get outside and keep working on my potting area beside my garden shed. I got another free cupboard ( courtesy of eldest daughter) and that meant some rearranging had to be done. I want the wooden cupboard to be at least partially protected from rain. You can't see it very clearly but the front has tambour doors which I really like.
I hope your week is off to a great start. Thanks for taking the time to come by.

I liked to munch on raw rhubarb straight from the garden with a shaker of salt!
ReplyDeleteI love rhubarb but haven't grown any. My husband isn't a fan (except for rhubarb bread!). I love free stuff, especially when it's useful free stuff. My garden shed is in desperate need of a good clean and organize, but it will have to wait until everything is planted and I have some spare time!
ReplyDeleteI love rhubarb and have some growing now. I could always use more too.
ReplyDeleteDelicious kitchen with rhubarb! Granny Marigold can!! The cupboard will find a good place and task!!
ReplyDeleteWe love rhubarb and have been eating it stewed with yogurt or ice cream. When I freeze it I forget to use it! The cupboard looks great!
ReplyDeleteI never could find enough people for all of the rhubarb I had in my garden in Spokane. I brought a starter plant here with me last spring and when I checked it today it's HUGE. I can't believe it all came from that little plant! I plan to harvest some tomorrow and possibly make a cobbler. IF I have the energy. I'm still fighting that cold/no voice/cough thing Alex shared with me in London.
ReplyDeleteLove that new cabinet too. You find/get given, the best things!
Blessings,
Betsy
I'm just going out to pick some of our rhubarb. It freezes so well and its lovely to have some waiting in the freezer for a Wintry pudding.
ReplyDeleteRhubarb us such a pretty plant...my mom always grew it.
ReplyDeleteI want to use some of our rhubarb, but I don't want baked goods. I think I'll just make rhubarb sauce.
ReplyDeleteYour rhubarb looks so good. I love rhubarb. You made some great things with it! Glad you got some rain...we have a very high fire danger here.....sure hope we get some rain soon....we are in the middle of many tall forests!
ReplyDeleteMy mouth is watering! I would love some stewed rhubarb right now :)
ReplyDeleteDelicious rhubarb! I'm trying to avoid sugar right now -- I feel so much better when I do. Love that cabinet! That's good storage.
