Some pictures taken on our walk on Sunday morning. The clouds were so lovely!!
I didn't realize that Mock Orange grew wild but apparently it does. From the internet..
Native to western North America, from northwestern California in the Sierra Nevada, north to southern British Columbia, and east to Idaho and Montana.
Doesn't look much different from the one in my back garden.
Also blooming in the back is my Deutzia which is absolutely covered with flowers again.
I know you'll be fascinated to find out that it was named for Johannes Van Der Dutse, a sheriff of Amsterdam.
Alright...it's back to doing laundry on this Monday morning. Have a great week.
Thanks for visiting
Delightful!
ReplyDeleteDeutzia is one of my favourite shrubs, so pretty.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty pictures from your walk. I particularly like the one with the clouds reflected in the water.
ReplyDeleteThe flowering shrubs are looking especially beautiful now.
I had never heard of Deutzia...it is so pretty. Does it have a scent? Your clouds are beautiful...we had some lovely ones htis morning, a bit on the foreboding look, but I so love them anyway. That is a great reflective shot.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics GM. Monday, Monday, Laundry, Laundry and life goes on!! ☺
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that mock orange was a native either. Love that fragrance.
ReplyDeleteLooks like great weather for walking. Great photos.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful! I love the light clouds in the blue sky and the rich blooming bushes.
ReplyDeleteYour flowering shrubs are just beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Just wondering....does mock orange smell like oranges? That would be nice.
ReplyDeleteIt is so interesting finding out where plant names originated. Love the cloud reflections in your third photo :)
ReplyDeleteMy mock orange bushes are blooming right now - it's a different type from yours, I think. And I did lots of laundry today as well. That's traditional, isn't it! :-)

I think mock orange is also called Philladelphus or something like that. We have some flowering at the moment in our Sussex garden in the UK. So pretty. Not as exuberant as yours!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flowers.
ReplyDeleteIt is a poem in nature. You can be happy all around.
And that's exactly what we do :-)))
I wish you a wonderful day.
A greeting from Viola to you.
Hi GM! The clouds ARE lovely! I have a great view of my neighbor's mock orange from our bedroom window! xo
ReplyDeleteI love the beautiful clouds. Your flowering shrubs are lovely, too. Thank you for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteI love your lovely cloud photos. The flowering shrubs are awesome, too.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. I was driving part way across Iowa with a friend today and there were such beautiful puffy clouds in a bright blue sky. What a beautiful day! It was 90F but very low humidity which is unusual for here in the the summer. We had a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
