Sunday Walk and Some Shrubs

Some pictures taken on our walk on Sunday morning. The clouds were so lovely!!

I didn't realize that Mock Orange grew wild but apparently it does. From the internet..

Native to western North America, from northwestern California in the Sierra Nevada, north to southern British Columbia, and east to Idaho and Montana.

Doesn't look much different from the one in my back garden.

Also blooming in the back is my Deutzia which is absolutely covered with flowers again.

I know you'll be fascinated to find out that it was named for Johannes Van Der Dutse, a sheriff of Amsterdam.

Alright...it's back to doing laundry on this Monday morning.  Have a great week.

Thanks for visiting

  8. Your flowering shrubs are just beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Just wondering....does mock orange smell like oranges? That would be nice.

  9. It is so interesting finding out where plant names originated. Love the cloud reflections in your third photo :)

  10. My mock orange bushes are blooming right now - it's a different type from yours, I think. And I did lots of laundry today as well. That's traditional, isn't it! :-)

  11. I think mock orange is also called Philladelphus or something like that. We have some flowering at the moment in our Sussex garden in the UK. So pretty. Not as exuberant as yours!

It is a poem in nature. You can be happy all around.

  17. Beautiful photos. I was driving part way across Iowa with a friend today and there were such beautiful puffy clouds in a bright blue sky. What a beautiful day! It was 90F but very low humidity which is unusual for here in the the summer. We had a wonderful time.
