Monday Chit Chat

The sun shone all weekend. This flock of geese must have thought a walk through the neighbourhood would be a good idea.

Overnight rain began...the first rain we've had in over a month. I hope we get enough to soak the poor parched ground because as the week progresses the temperatures are forecast to go back up to the 30's again.

On our way back from our walk on Saturday we stopped at the fruit & veg market and got some produce.  The Black Plums were so good that we went back and bought enough to freeze and also make jam.  The peaches and nectarines, on the other hand, were disappointing. Probably picked way too green so they don't ripen well.  The tomatoes ended up in BLTs which were delicious.

I think the dryer has gone off so I better get my clean laundry folded and put away.

Thanks for coming by.

  1. Hi GM, we finally had a nice little rain today, everything looks so poorly, but will perk up. Those geese taking their half out of the middle, not a care in the world. They cause us to slow down a minute and take a breath when we wait for them to cross, babies & all, like a goose parade...too funny.

  2. Thanks for the chuckle.
I am enjoying the coolness, but I fear the rain won't add up to much.

  6. Wow these lovely big geese-family and friends! :) :)
Were they searching for some water?

I know the dull taste of peaches, which are not really ripe from real sun.
    Not any tomato is delicious!...

Think you had a good laundry-day!

  8. In the spring, the geese stroll though our neighborhood as if they own the place. I feel like fixing nothing, too, for supper one night. LOL

  9. I'm so glad that you had some good rain. We have had a few showers but definitely could use a few good soaking rains.

  10. Love the meme! Your produce looks good, especially the tomatoes. I'm still wanting to make a BLT sandwich but haven't been to the store to get lettuce. We could sure use some rain. It's getting pretty dry and burnt around here. It was 110F "feels like" today with 115F predicted for tomorrow.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  13. I would have loved to have sent you some of our rain. We got way too much. Still getting showers nearly every day. I am not bragging, mind you. The rug on my balcony has turned black with mold. It will have to go.

  14. Lovely geese. We also have problems to get fruit which are good enough to eat.
We have hot weather more than 30 C and we just had a terrible thunderstorm and hailstorm it was rather frightening

  15. The rain over the past couple of days was so welcome. I could almost hear the thirsty ground drinking it in. Isn't this a wonderful season for produce?
The chuckle at the end was great!
