Cleaning Windows

After 20 days in which it rained at least some each day we are enjoying a few days of sunshine, rare in January!  Youngest Son came to do the windows ....he did the outside and I did the inside. It's not a job I like and I'm not good at it. I leave streaks :(

I'm trying a new recipe tonight. It had a strange name that I can't recall but I printed out the ingredients and that's all I need to know. Basically it sounds like a savoury muffin with onion, garlic, and cheese. I'll post about them next time.
I think they were called Fargosas. Anyone heard of them?

In the window in front of YS are my geraniums that I'm hoping to keep alive through the winter. So far nothing on the porch has frozen. I keep watching the forecast low and will hopefully remember to bring them in on those nights.

That's it for today. I'm off to make muffins.

Thanks for visiting.

  1. Good luck with the recipe!
I hope the geraniums don't freeze and we'll see them in your photos!
Be well Granny Marigold and have a good time!

  3. How nice to have someone help you with your windows. I usually leave streaks too. I miss our windows in our house in Spokane. They tilted in and were easy to clean, in and outside.
The muffins sound really good. You can't go wrong with onion, garlic and cheese!

  4. Window cleaning is my pet hate too. I always leave streaks but at least they are clean streaks...

  5. I used to make a quick bread called Fergosa - it sounds much like yours - and was a family favourite. Good with soup for a meal. I haven't made it for a long time, but now I have a hankering for it.
After all the rain it was nice to have a day where there was blue sky.

  6. It's been cold enough here that I had to bring some plants inside. I have them on the kitchen table in front of my big window. I hope they will be happy there for a few days. Send YS my way, he can clean my windows! lol

  7. Oh, cleaning windows, we share too - my husband cleans outside and I clean inside :-))
I have cookies in the oven.
    Savoury muffins sound great.
Have a nice day. Best wishes from Viola

  8. Can't wait to see how you like the muffins. Windows aren't my favorite cleaning chore either. The hummingbirds did a number on my geraniums and I have them inside...trying to save them.

  9. Yum, sounds like a Fergasa bread except in muffin form! Lucky you having help with windows. I have my geraniums in the cold pantry where they are kept in a bag, unwatered, dry rooted until I soak the roots in water later in February and miraculously, they sprout green growth again. Amazing plants!

  10. My goodness, I can't imagine keeping geraniums alive outside all winter! That would be awesome.
So nice of your son to help with the windows. It gets harder and harder for us to do them, but I hate to ask my sons. I know they would, but I guess I am trying to wait until we are older to have to depend on their help.
