Is life going back to normal yet for you? Here it was grocery shopping as we usually do on Thursday mornings. After we came home I made a to-do list and began to do what I needed to do. First thing was something I should have done yesterday and that was changing both calendars. This is December 2024 followed by the new one (peeking out from below). I have transferred all important dates from the old to the new calendar.
I couldn't resist the marked down Christmas chocolate oranges. This one is orange taffy flavour!
I received this Rae Dunn mug but I'm not sure I'll keep it. Not only is it heavy ( especially when full) but also I find it difficult to drink out of a square-ish mug.
I picked up a large jar of no name marmalade at the grocery store.. Of course I prefer the small, imported brands but I also like to make my own. I find that when I do make some I can omit sugar and add however much of this overly sweet n n stuff. Works for me.
That's it for today. Thanks for coming by.
I know some people keep the calendar on their phones but I find I need one to write stuff down on and stay organized. With all the Holidays falling on Wednesdays I have had a bunch of Sundays in the past two weeks so good thing I have a calendar to remind me!
ReplyDeleteHappy new year! Your new calendar is lovely! I like to have a calendar and enjoy the new picture when turning to a new month. I look forward to get back to normal. It has been confusing with all the holidays the last weeks. It almost feels like it's been split up into many very short weeks between the holidays. We got snow at New Years Eve.
ReplyDeleteThings are slowly returning to normal around here. Back to the gym, back to work, back to the mounds of never-ending laundry.
ReplyDeleteI also have to have a hanging calendar in a place when it is easily seen. Mine is hanging just inside my kitchen cabinet door, the one where I go for my coffee cup each morning :) As I get my cup out of the cupboard I can look and see if I have already made a plan for the day . . . sometimes I would forget without it.
ReplyDeleteI have two desk diaries, two wall calendars and a handbag diary!
ReplyDeleteMy mother always had an anniversary reminder calendar on the bathroom wall!
ReplyDeleteAll back to normal with us here. :)
ReplyDeleteI like having a calendar to write things down too.
We have not kept a calendar in years. I think I got completely burned out keeping up with my work, storytelling and family calendars. All were on Google, and I should get back to using that at least. Larry keeps his appointment notifications from VA on the fridge. I keep mine in my head but I am not sure that's a safe place these days!
ReplyDeleteWe have no set grocery store day, although when I first retired we went on Tuesdays because Kroger had 5% off for seniors on that day. Now we tend to go after we have worked our booths or after appointments.
I keep a weekly planning calendar on the end of my kitchen counter that is out master organizer, then the phone calendars, which I just updated with new appointments. My iPhone is docked at night on my iHome clock radio so I can figure out what day it is. Like Far Side said, this week that has been hard to keep straight.
ReplyDeleteIt's back to normal here too. We met Dennis's brother who is in town from Florida for lunch and then went to Costco and the grocery store. I have an old-fashioned day timer that I keep track of all our important dates and doctors names and appointments. Everyone tells me I should put it in my phone but I don't like that. I prefer paper.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Blessings,
Betsy
I am working on normal but it usually takes several days for that to happen. I sort of broke a couple of resolutions today but it was really not my fault. Blame it on the kitties. More to come. Mary @ Hilltop post
ReplyDeleteYes, we are back to normal but the reality is that we did so little Christmas this year that we were never really NOT normal. I need to take the wreath off the door. The artificial poinsettias can stay out since they really are wintery and not just Christmas. My husband will have to take down/pack up the village probably after the 6th. And that, is pretty much that. When people say they had a “low key” Christmas, they have no idea….
ReplyDeleteI like having a calendar on the kitchen counter. My husband prefers the digital version on our phones so I try to update my stuff there, too, but I really prefer having things written down on paper.
ReplyDeleteThings are pretty much back to normal here. Today is laundry and a bit of shopping.
I don't shop weekly but when I just can't put it off anymore.
ReplyDeleteI only have one calendar and rarely use it I use my phone mostly

I like to have a calendar in my kitchen, too. I know many people rely on the smart phone, but I still like a paper calendar to write my appointments. I hope things will get back to normal, too. Our family had a good Christmas, but I want to get back to a normal routine. Hoping you will have a great New Year.
ReplyDeleteThings are almost back to normal.
ReplyDeleteI tend to use a diary not a calendar.
All the best Jan
I have so many hard-copy calendars, upstairs and down, including one in a bathroom, which I really appreciate. I am so spacey, I easily forget what day it is, and I need to keep them around so that at least once a day I notice!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!

Like you, I need an actual paper calendar but other than my journal, I have only one which hangs from a magnet on the side of the fridge. I am too old school to use my phone for such! The one in your bathroom is so lovely! I too would have difficulty with the Rae Dunn mug as I find it hard to pick up large and heavy mugs with my crippled hands. I am not fond of the Chocolate Orange combination but now is definitely the time to find good deals on chocolates and other goodies! Happy New Year to you!

I love calendars, they always have such great pictures! I keep a calendar close to the coffee pot so I can be reminded what day it is each morning. We received a gift box with different small jars of jelly and jams, and one of orange marmalade, they all went fast! I may have one or two left. I do like your new mug but agree with you about weight and style. And, if the mug is tooooo big the coffee/tea gets cold faster.
