Tea sets

I've mentioned before that my middle son manages a townhouse complex.  Often people move out and leave unwanted things behind.  In this case a woman died and no one wanted these teapots and matching cream & sugar bowls so knowing how I love dishes he brought them home.
I needed to rearrange some things and put others in the 'donate' box to make room for the new pieces. That's what I've been working at today.

This second set was made in Japan and includes 3 cups.

I emptied the two bottom shelves of my green baker's rack and arranged them on the bottom shelf.

Rearranging my dishes was the perfect way to spend a rainy day.

Thanks for visiting,

  4. It seems a rainy day makes us all want to do what we like best. You have some beautiful tea sets and have them arranged so nicely. Thanks for the comment you left on my blog. I have never heard of hummingbirds staying through the winter. I really hope none of mine decide to stay, even though I love them dearly. I need a little rest from boiling sugar water and cleaning feeders! :~)

  7. Wow … love your new teapots, sugars and creamers and cups. Aren't you lucky! I also love your big spider plant! I have such a little one and it never seems to grow much. Your new arrangement looks great!

  8. How very considerate of your son! And they're both beautiful, but I especially like the Japanese set. I too use a baker's rack to display my tea sets.

  11. I've never seen anything like that Japanese set - very nice. I was interested to hear mention of your "donate" box because I always wonder HOW you manage to fit all these new dishes into your cupboards. I do love dishes and had to give a bunch away recently, because I have two hutches and very little cupboard space. I'm trying not to buy any for a while...

  13. What a bonus!! I really love the Japanese tea set, but they're both beautiful! My baker's rack has the same type of curleques on the sides. I got it free from someone a couple years ago, cleaned it up good and repainted it. ♥
