Good Morning and Happy New week. Can you tell that we're having a sunny day? To quote John Denver " Sunshine always makes me Happy". Of course I'm doing laundry and another Monday chore is taking care of my houseplants. I'm afraid I've added a few more and now have about 50. Another Amaryllis ( Red Lion) has 2 lovely flowers that opened on the weekend and 2 more plants are showing new flower stalks. I have some luck with most plants except for African Violets. Nevertheless I have picked up 3 more and will keep trying to keep them thriving.
There's a picture of the three below...my pictures are not in order today.
I'm pleased that these 4 Geraniums made it through the winter on the porch. They don't look this nice right now but I'm sure they'll grow and bloom again in a month or so.
The 3 latest African Violets
Thank you for your lovely comments on my post with the things from the past. I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested and was pleasantly surprised to find that many did. When I don't have anything to actually blog about I fall back on the internet for inspiration.
Thank you for visiting, GM
Oh, if we could all look that glamorous when we hung out the laundry! I love your geraniums and African violets, and envy your ability to grow indoor plants - all mine always seem to curl up their toes on me. Have a great week :) xx
ReplyDeleteWOW! Your flowers are so pretty and healthy looking. I am afraid that a few cold spells took the life out of some of my pretties. I plan to have a re-plant and revive day with some of my plants soon. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteI think your Geraniums are looking good:) Not Spring yet here:(
ReplyDeleteAfrican Violets were mom's favorite! They truly are lovely. Love the look on the robin's face, I can identify. We woke up to -20 this morning.
ReplyDeleteLove the robin expression!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers
Many people throw the geraniums in autumn away. So sad! You rescued them over the winter and they will say THANK YOU, dear Granny Marigold1 Your big amount of plants reminds me of a lot of doves I have :)
ReplyDeleteMonday I have housecleaning-day.
We had a nice sunny day here too and got wash sheets out on the line. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the African Violets - must get some of them.
Your blooming plants are lovely. They bring spring inside even when it's still cold outside.
ReplyDeleteYour plants are so pretty and healthy looking, you must have a green thumb! I love that John Denver song and I love sunny days as long as it doesn't get too hot!!
ReplyDeleteI know it's a little springier here than there!

We've had sunshine and warm, (in the 40's) for a few days...until today. It was cloudy and turned cold. Snow mixed with rain is predicted for most of the week. I was told that african violets really need a lot less water than most of us give them. I was told one ounce per week! Ever since I started that my violet isn't dying anymore and is actually growing. Yippee!
ReplyDeleteHave a great Tuesday!
Blessings,
Betsy
Love your blooming plants. Here Spring is coming and going…
ReplyDeleteMy african violet is doing so well. I was like you, couldn't do much with them. In my apartment I have no east or north windows so I decided I'd set my violet in my west window. When the sun shines too brightly on it, I close the blinds and you know, that thing took off like a shot out of a cannon. It loves that light it gets and hasn't stopped blooming!
ReplyDeleteI love the colours! 😍
ReplyDeleteIt'll be awhile before I hang laundry out on the line but I won't be wearing high heels like in your illustration! It's -25C here this morning. Wow, you have 50 houseplants? I have a total of 7 not counting the cuttings I've started indoors now for my garden pots.

Those geraniums are my favorite colors! I love your violets too, although I also don't have much luck with them. My mom used to grow amazing violets, though. I guess that didn't rub off on me.
ReplyDeleteToday, too, was so bright and beautiful! No laundry hanging out here, though. Soon your geraniums will perk up and look like they should.
ReplyDeleteI love red geraniums but didn’t winter any over this year. I planted rosemary and sage yesterday. I‘ll put them inside when the temperatures get near freezing as it is bound to do. Hilltop Post.
ReplyDeleteI cannot remember which was which...but think when mom wanted her african violets to do good, she put them in my bedroom which got the north and east light. Then she would take them to the kitchen which got the western sun. I am not positive, but almost positive she would then move them back to my bedroom to get them growing good.
