Houses

Happy Tuesday morning...or afternoon, depending what time zone you are in.  It's a mostly cloudy day here. I worked outside after we got back from our walk. Came in 45 minutes later, vacuumed, put in a load of laundry and now it's 10:30 and I've done the "necessary" and can relax. We had a quiet and enjoyable weekend. Aside from doing quite a bit of walking we didn't do anything picture worthy. So... as we walked around the block I took pictures of the many houses that have been built in the last few years.   None of them appeal to me at all.  They look too boxy for my liking.  Here's a style of house I admire ( and pass by every day).

Here are the houses near us.  Do you like any of them?

This one is right next door to us.

The house below is not nearby.  It was in the paper recently for sale for over four million dollars. The price of housing has gone up unbelievably!!

Thanks for visiting,  GM

  1. I share your house aesthetic! 4 million dollars...🤯 sure it's a big house but! Wow. Prices are high here too.

  2. I agree with you-I like the first house best! They are building so many houses out here in the country, there soon won't be any open land left. They're all boxy, ugly and expensive here too!

  3. Your morning sounds very productive. They are all nice houses. The first is my hands down favorite.

  4. I like the first house too... it looks like a Craftsman style house. That's the kind of house I would like in my next life! All the others look too modern for my taste.

  5. Everything is changing and not always for the better. Come to think of it, not much for the better. Give me the good ole days!!

  6. I only like the first house of your interesting show. You are right, these houses are too boxy. No plants and trees, no paradise-garden like around your home. O my Lord, what catastrophe happened, that the last house must be offered for sale! And really very expensive. Sad Story maybe . We don't know anything.
It's such a blessing to have a good and happy home..

  7. The very first house is my favorite and I LOVE it. All the others are too modern for my taste.
A nice feeling getting the 'necessary' things done early. :)

  8. I too, like the first house. I also like the 5th house, it looks very European to me.

  9. That last house is a mess, looks like someone couldn't make up their mind.

  10. Hi GM...certainly large houses- sometimes modern houses seem to miss out on character -whereas older style homes are much more appealing when it comes to simple architecture and charm. All the best. KEV.

  11. I like the first house too. That cost is really ridiculous. No wonder so many are homeless now with the cost of housing so high.
You are so industrious and get so much done I have my annual physical tomorrow morning and then I'm planning to get some housework done that I've put off while working so hard on the sweaters.
    Take care.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  12. Wow, I love the first home…the others, not so much…or…not at all. Prices are stupid, crazy high. Wonder who is buying at those prices? Oh well enjoy your sweet home and keep walking! Happy day, V.

  13. Architecture seems to have gone backwards. Houses are stark and unyielding. Not for me. I loved the first one that you prefer.

  14. I love the first one but the rest look like boxes. I truly believe that what goes Up...must come down! With a bang!

  16. I don't like that modern, boxy look. Actually, I prefer old houses, so even an "old-looking" house, that's actually a new build, doesn't appeal to me either! I'm picky :) The home at the top is the best. Yes, prices are outrageous. So many people cannot afford a place to live these days.

  17. We have a lot of boxes houses and I don’t like them . All houses will be the same.

  18. Nope. I like the first photo! The rest seem so modern, just not my style:)

  19. don't like any except the very first one. The others look cold & unwelcoming. The first has charm and says welcome. CrochetbytheSea
