We took a drive out into the country where a small meat shop makes what my carnivores think is the best sausage. It's going to be a long weekend so BBQ's will be happening so having meat on hand is a good idea. On the way we stopped at a couple of roadside farm stands to look at what was available but nothing appealed to me. It's hard to think of what to make in the way of meals when it's very hot.
Work has begun on the lot behind us and it sure creates dust!! The plan is to build a 3 story building that will have medical offices. It will be huge and will dominate our view.
This is what it looks like right now.
Thanks for visiting. Have a lovely weekend, GM
I've been using our grill in this heat, then I get hot outside using it! Lol, I can't win.
ReplyDeleteOh, I sympathize with you about having your surroundings altered by tall buildings that take away view and sky.
ReplyDeleteYou can walk to the Dr office...wow that is a big building:(
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that you will be loosing your view. I have a hay field as a view in front of your home and I would hate to see construction started there.
ReplyDeleteWe have had a little break from the heat for the last few days which is rare for NC in August. Your tomatoes sure are pretty (last post). My tomatoes this year are awful. They grow big but get soft spots and rot before turning red. We've had a few that we could eat.
ReplyDeleteI hope all is well with you and the building will work out okay. As fall approaches, I look forward to cooler weather.
ReplyDeleteSausages on the grill sounds good! As to the building behind you, I am very sorry. It hasn't been that long since you had a pretty big new house go up next door to you, right? Do you feel that you are getting squeezed out?
ReplyDeleteO it's hot in your country! We have rain, the forest needed urgently water. But now we have new desire for rain and grill in the garden. You are very right: Good meet from small meet shops is better than large industry-meet!
ReplyDeleteWhat a huge desert for a huge building! I hope you will save your feelings, and I know, you will feel good because you trust in the Lord, HE will help to save your garden and soul.
Oh that make me sad that you are going to loose your view! GIRL, I know what you mean about trying to plan a hot meal and it's so dang hot. We like salads and different kinds of salads so I have making lots of salads lately. I hope your week is wonderful to you. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteI also went to the farm to get barbecue food, but we had to shelter from the rain to do it! They also are building a lot here too.
ReplyDeleteBecause we live very close to town we have commercial buildings behind us. Thankfully they are single story buildings and it's not so bad. I love stopping at small roadside produce stands, we just don't travel much anymore so I've haven't shopped at one in a while. Hope you have a great week ahead.♥
ReplyDeleteSausages on the grill or BBQ sounds very good.
ReplyDeleteSorry about that new building, hope things may work out better than you think.
Take care.
All the best Jan

I understand about meals in the heat. I've been using our air fryer a LOT. It amazes me how fast it cooks and makes steaks and hot dogs both. Grilled to perfection!
ReplyDeleteSorry about losing your view. That's really too bad.
Blessings,
Betsy
