Our weather forecast was for rain with a high of 7C but this is what is happening right now. It's 2C and snowing!! Even the weather forecasters must be surprised.
Inside we are warm and dry. I'm so glad it was dry when we walked earlier.
A December page from the Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady. The tea cup is Royal Albert's Yuletide pattern.
Like I always do I took out my Christmas magazines and children's books. Throughout the month I browse through them.
I hope you're having a lovely weekend,
Thanks for popping by.
Well, I would find that to be a nice surprise. Snow in December is the perfect background for sipping tea and enjoying your books and magazines. I love to pull out my Christmas books and carve out moments to enjoy them too.
ReplyDeleteOH! Everything changed into white! Here everything is changing now into green. Hope the snow will stay in our higher mountains. In this Christmas-expecting time snow is so romantic. I also love children books about Christmas very much!
ReplyDeleteThis post made me feel all cozy. You are tucked in with your sweet books and tea who could ask for more?

Happy Saturday! We had snow flurries off and on all day too but they didn't collect on the ground. Tomorrow is supposed to be back in the upper 40's again which will be nice. Your books all look like fun to read and browse through. We're watching "It's a Wonderful Life" right now. They just don't make movies like that anymore do they?
ReplyDeleteThis afternoon I went to a Jane Austin tea for her 248th birthday with some of my friends who are members of the Jane Austin book club. I'm thinking about joining in January. We're going to be reading "Mansfield Park" this year. I've never read that one so it should be interesting. I hope your evening is a happy one.
Blessings,
Betsy
I love that last sign. If someone proposed a walk right now, I would accept!

What a lovely selection of Christmas books.
ReplyDeleteNo snow here in S Wales but we've had a lot of rain.. read back and isn't that shop amazing, so many pretty trinkets, just as well its a long way from me, I'd buy so much!
ReplyDeleteWe got rain, not snow down here, but today the rain has stopped and we have a little sun. I got my last batch of fancy cookies baked and into the freezer. Now I'm sort of watching Seahawks football. Maybe I should pay more attention. Looks like they need my help.
ReplyDeletethe last thing that I would do is go for a walk if it's snowing outside. Yikes....when I was younger, yes indeed...but nowadays, with my balance the way it is....I would probably fall into the snow after a few steps. I hope you get the opportunity to do that though...go for a beautiful walk in the snow. The beauty of snow falling is one of my favorite things....and we get at least 5 months of it every year! Take good care Granny!
ReplyDeleteOh...you had snow! We had a light dusting as well. We had quite a bit of rain before it started snowing. The tea cup is beautiful and I love it that you have a collection of Christmas magazines and children's books that you look through every year. That's so special.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Christmas books! I hope you enjoy your snow. I went to a widow's brunch at my church last weekend and one of our gifts was a teacup. They bought them at a thrift store and served our drinks in them. Mine is really cute, but had no markings on it. I'm not even sure if the cup and saucer go together, but they reminded me of you. :) Merry Christmas to you and all your family!
ReplyDeleteIt has been very cold and we have a little snow here, but now they say it will be up to 8C next weekend. So I don't think it will be white Christmas. When we moved from our old house with lot of space, I gave away a lot of the old children's books. But I kept the Christmas books that I read for the boys when they were little :)
ReplyDeleteChristmas books are special and I enjoy bringing out magazines and books of the season, too. No snow here, just lots of rain. I expect your snow will disappear in a few days, too. I am a wee bit envious of it, though. It's always so pretty.
