It was quite foggy when we went on our walk this morning. My fog pics didn't turn out so this one is off the 'net.
It cleared up enough so I could get a few pictures. This web is certainly interesting. I wonder if it's a spider's work or???
This is Jewel Weed I think......
....and this looks like Common Tansy. I'm no expert on wild plants so anyone that knows...feel free to correct me.
On the way back home we stopped to buy fresh corn which was delicious for lunch along with some of our tomatoes and basil.
After lunch I baked scones and then I had a nap. It was a lovely day.
Thanks for visiting
Gosh your scones look delicious....and I love the plate of tomatoes and corn too. Haven't been able to have much sweet corn this summer...last time it upset my stomach. I should try again though. Foggy days can be pretty....too bad your pics didn't quite turn out. Take care!
ReplyDeleteYes Jewelweed and Tansy:) You can make a salve out of the liquid in the Jewelweed stalks:)
ReplyDeleteEven if it's a pic off of the internet, it's still beautiful. There is something mysterious about fog isn't there?
ReplyDeleteYour scones look yummy. I haven't left the condo in two days. Sometimes it's nice just to stay home. I have caught up on lots of things, windows wide open and enjoying the coolness. Tomorrow the A/C will be back on.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
You've reminded me that I haven't eaten a bite of corn this summer! Maybe I can pick some up this week; it surely sounds good.
ReplyDeleteThe first photo is just stunning and the scones looks great :)

Jewelweed is a native variety of Impatiens. I've seen it, but not nearby.
ReplyDeleteYour scones look delicious. Have you put fruit in them?
ReplyDeleteFog is always fascinating.
ReplyDeleteThe corn dish looks appealing.
Have a great Sunday Granny Marigold!
Fog makes everything look mysterious doesnt it. Your web picture reminds me of the processional caterpillars webs we used to get in France, I hope it isnt.
ReplyDeleteYou chose a nice fog shot to share. And I love the spiderwebs. I would love to have some of the fresh tomatoes...

ReplyDeleteSpooky webs! And love the flowers...Sounds like you had a nice and easy time of it.

Mary, I thought the foggy photo was excellent and I imagined a place with a lot of mystery, ideal for a movie.
ReplyDeleteI had tansy in my old garden before moving here. I think it is a host plant for some butterflies. You probably know. Jewel Weed is pretty, but I am not familiar with it. Your scones make me hungry.
ReplyDeletethat is jewel weed and usually grows near poison ivy as it can be used to help heal poison ivy. I love tansy I would pick and dry that.
ReplyDeleteScones look good nap sounds great!

I love foggy mornings. We get quite a few of them around here.
ReplyDeleteThe 'web' looks like tent caterpillars to me.
I love how fog envelops the outdoors. I have never hear of jewel weed or tansy. Your scones look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt looks as thought you had a lovely relaxed Saturday. I should add tansy to the wild and weedy collection of plants in my back yard.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if that is a big spider in that web?? How delicious your scones look. Such a pretty little flower that Tansy is.......I have never heard of it
ReplyDeleteNow the new season is beginning. The fog is like a romantic tale. The spider-net looks mystical. Lovely flowers - I like the name "Jewel Weed". I'm sure you had a lovely nap after a lovely time!
ReplyDeleteIt looked like you had a lovely day. Your lunch and your scones look very tempting and I'll bet your home smelled wonderful with those stones coming out of the oven.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week my friend.
Fog certainly adds a mysterious touch to our world, doesn't it? The tansy is so lovely but I made the mistake of planting it in my flowerbed years ago and it took over everything with its rhizomes spreading hither and yonder. The scones look delish!
