A Snowy Day

Snow was forecast and snow is what we're having. It's hard to say just how much has fallen but one thing is for sure...we're going to get a lot more before it quits coming down.

Knowing that the snow was coming DH quickly built another bird feeder.  We have several that exclude larger birds so the one he put up now is open for all sizes.

Schools are cancelled throughout the province.  M went outside to shovel and also to clear the snow off Grandad's truck. Not that he has any intention of going anywhere.

It's a good day to get out old copies of Victoria magazine and have a cup of tea. I'm using a Christmas
teacup for the last time this season although with all the snow it seems quite right to use it.

I have some magazines that I picked up at the thrift store and also my latest library books. I won't lack reading material.

Thanks for coming by today,  GM

  1. We didn't get snow up here on the heights (500ft), we got ice. But now it's 38F and raining steadily, the worst kind of weather. We will venture out soon for another one of my medical appointments. I would rather have snow.

  2. I always cheer for the snow here because we never get that much of it...
I hope it remains tolerable for you.
It's so sweet that DH built another birdhouse.
A lot of birds come to me, including those from the forest... e.g. woodpeckers and jays.
Make yourself comfortable inside... you're well prepared.
    A hug from me.

  4. I'm a friend of the snow, because when I was born, there was a lot of snow falling. So I am snow-fan. But since I have animals in the village about half an hour from my home with car, I'm afraid of such great amounts of snow. The climate makes sometimes extremely jumps. I love DH's bird-house-idea! Stay comfortable with fine tea in fine cups and fine books and magazines!

  5. Lots of snow here yet. Maybe more tomorrow evening!
I've read a lot of Anne Perry books but not that series. I really like her books.

  6. I should follow your example and get some bird feed out there! We have had lots of snow and very cold temperatures here in Utah! ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

  7. You're smart to stay in with tea and good reading materials! I love Victoria too! How nice that you have put up another feeder for all size birds. I'm sure they will appreciate that! Take care.

  9. It was a snowy day here, and good for a walk, then settling indoors. It's so pretty out. I still have a few old Victoria magazines that I enjoy reading.

  10. I'm glad you are also feeding the larger birds - they deserve food just as much as the little ones, even if they don't always appear as loveable or demonstrate some really bad greedy behaviour.
I hope you and the family all stay safe during the snow (it looks amazing). Stay warm, enjoy your reading - and your chocolates! Mxx

  11. Glad that you are well stocked with reading material to keep you occupied with all of the snow you are getting. It's really hard to tell exactly how much snow we have had because of all of the wind and drifting. I'd say from the snow we started getting over the weekend, we probably had about four inches, but we are forecast for another 3-6 inches between tonight (Thursday) and tomorrow night, along with super cold temps.
